At Pikolinos we have always kept in touch with society through social projects, culture and sport. A few years ago, in 2007, the Juan Perán-Pikolinos Foundation was set up to administer and channel all the aid and assistance, which is always focused on our most important areas of work: Progress, Society, Culture and Sport.
Our Foundation is currently helping out with different projects. Locally, with people who work every day for the good of society, and also internationally, in some of the most deprived, disadvantaged places on the planet. On a local level, for example, we are working with AMACMEC (Association for Women Affected by Breast Cancer in Elche and the surrounding Region), PRM (Women’s Reintegration Programme) and also with various Research projects at the University Hospital of Elche. On an international level, we are collaborating with UNICEF to help the street children from Bangladesh, and with the project being carried out by the Mapayn Mundi Organization in the Ancash region of Peru.
However, as we like to practice what we preach, employees from Pikolinos are also involved in corporate voluntary work projects through FUNDAR. Last year, for example, we took part in a Workshop on Setting up Businesses with inmates from the Foncalent prison (Alicante), to help them reintegrate into society once their term of imprisonment is over.
